The Revolution
The Revolution
The Revolution was Prince's backing band from in 1983 to 1986.

Although an earlier form of the same band existed since 1979 and toured with him from 1979 to 1983. The departure of Dez Dickerson from Prince's band and his replacement with Wendy Melvoin marks "The Revolution" foundation. The original lineup Wendy Melvoin (Guitar), Mark Brown (Bass), Bobby Z. (Drums), Dr. Fink (Keyboards) and Lisa Coleman (Keyboards) was later expanded with: Eric Leeds (Saxophone), Atlanta Bliss (Trumpet), Mico Weaver (Guitar), Jerome Benton (Dance / Vocals), Greg Brooks (Dance / Vocals) and Wally Safford (Dance / Vocals).

NOTE: Please use this credit only if The Revolution appear on the release without Prince. If The Revolution is credited with Prince, please use Prince And The Revolution.

GOODING is soul-stirring, animated Rock ‘n’ Roll from the plains. With over 1,000 shows in 160 cities under their belt, this Nashville-based/Kansas-bred four-piece is by far one of the hardest-working bands in America.
The band – which includes Gooding (Guitarist/Singer/band namesake), Erin O’Neill (guitar/vocals), Jesse Reichenberger (drums) and Eric Santagada (bass) – blasts a majestic, soul-stirring indie rock with soaring harmonies and blazing guitars – infused with the ghosts of Blues and Americana. Their live shows have the confident energy and heart-on-your-sleeve emotion that echo the closeness and passion of these longtime friends.
Gooding’s music has been placed on the DVDs of Iron Man 2, Walk the Line, Ice Age 2, as well as in commercials for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler.
The band has recently collaborated with producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Maroon 5, O.A.R., The Replacements, and Train) on their next studio album.
